How to make Skor Bars! [56k go on a diet] by Master Ninja Visit Thread
In continuing this new tradition of awesome cooking threads, I present a dessert that I have kept secret for years. Every time a potluck dinner comes up I make this recipe, and every time people have said it's one of the best things they've ever tried and asked for the recipe. And now, I reveal my secrets to you, the Internet.

Skor Bars!

For this recipe, you will need:

- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 package of unsalted soda crackers
- 1 package of milk chocolate chips
- 1 cookie sheet and tinfoil

First, set your oven to 350 degrees.

Cover your cookie sheet in tinfoil, and lay out the soda crackers so they cover the entire thing. One package should fit a standard size sheet exactly (mine is a bit smaller).

Combine the butter, brown sugar and baking soda in a small pot and set the element to medium. Low heat is the key to this recipe.

While you don't have to grab a beer while waiting for the butter to melt, I highly recommend it.

Now that the butter is starting to melt, start stirring the mixture. The more you stir, the less likely the sugar is to burn to the bottom of the pan.

Eventually your caramel (that's what this is, in case you couldn't smell it) will get this light layer of foam on top. What you need to do is leave it on the element and keep stirring until this foam is gone. I can usually tell by the color.

Not yet...

Almost there...

Perfect! When it looks like this, you can take it off.

Pour the whole thing over your sheet of crackers, and spread it around with a spoon so that it covers the entire tray.

Toss it in the oven for 10 minutes. If you didn't leave the caramel on the element for long enough, then it will still foam when you put it in the oven. The result is a sticky goopy mess all over the inside of the oven, which fucking sucks when it burns later and sets off the fire alarms.

When it's done, it should look like this.

Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the tray. When they start to melt from the heat, spread them around with a spoon so they cover the entire thing.

Once you're all done, stick the thing in the freezer and go watch some TV or something. You'll have to leave it until it's brittle enough to break apart by hand.

The final result should look something like this (I ate a lot before I took this picture):

And there you have it, an incredibly simple dessert that will blow the panties off any girls who are impressed with guys that can cook. Use it wisely.
